Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues. Symptoms often begin after an event such as physical trauma, surgery, infection or significant psychological stress. In some cases, symptoms gradually accumulate over time without single trigger event.

Women are more likely to develop fibromyalgia than are men. Many people who have fibromyalgia also have tension headaches, temporomandicular joint (TMJ)disorder, irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety and depression.

There is no care for fibromyalgia with conventional medicine. A variety of medications have been tried by doctors to control the symptoms have not always worked well. The patient with fibromyalgia experience constant persistent dull ache pain and soreness, awaken tired, even though they report sleeping for long period of time. Their sleep is often interrupted by pain. They often have a symptom commonly referred to as “Fibro Fog” impair ability to focus, pay attention or concentration on mental tasks. The patients with fibromyalgia may also experience migraine and other headaches, interstitial cystitis or painful bladder syndrome.

To help the patients with this condition, based on my years of clinic experience in treating patients with fibromyalgia, combining functional medicine and Chinese medicine we have developed a unique integrative approach for treatment of Fibromyalgia. With this approach, a cure is possible. We have helped many patients to reducing their chronic pain to minimum level. Some patients have experienced long period of time pain free. They sleep better, awaken feeling fresh and ready for the day, they have more energy and set up new goal in their life.
